Wilmington is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Wilmington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Are you tired of feeling like you are in an assembly line and your doctor's office is rushing to get you in and out? If so, you need to go see Dr Mary Rudyk! I had a new patient appointment with her today. I'm a nurse, so I'm a tough healthcare critic. I was pleasantly surprised at how thorough Dr Rudyk's office was. I had an EKG, cognitive screening, a head to toe assessment, multiple labs drawn, and a referral made for a specialist. Dr Rudyk took her time with me. When I left, I felt like she had really listened to my concerns and had addressed them all. She didn't make me feel like I was crazy or a hypochondriac like most doctors make women feel. I know she will get down to the bottom of whatever is going on with me. Job well done Dr Rudyk and your wonderful office staff: Krista, Michelle, Amy, and Megan! It's tough to find a great doctor AND a great office staff but The Senior Health Center is a hidden jewel in Wilmington!

I’m a patient of Dr. Rudyk who is hands down and exceptional provider. She is extremely thorough and she cares deeply about patient care. The staff in the office from front to back are very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. The phlebotomist was very gentle, and kind. Last but not least the office is very clean and well decorated which makes the office such a happy atmosphere to be in.

The majority of the staff are extremely rude. They act annoyed if you ask a question. My mother was having some significant health issues and the PA who was in charge of her care just sent us on a wild goose chase seeing up to 4 different specialists a week for 3 weeks before my mother was finally admitted to the hospital. Both my mother and I were reprimanded for not seeing a kidney doctor, which we knew nothing about, but was told it was in her chart. They dropped the ball. It was noted in her chart, but we were never told about needing to see any kidney specialist. It wasn't until my mother had been in the hospital a week, that a kidney doctor called and said they had a request for an urgent appointment. Too late. She was already in the hospital. When my mother was released from the hospital, she was never given any new prescriptions and when we had a follow up appointment, we were once again reprimanded for not getting and taking the new medications. There is no follow through communication in this practice and we will be looking for another practice that doesn't reprimand their senior patients when the fault was not the patients, but the doctors themselves.

My mother is 62 years old with no job and no responsibilities. Dr. John Timothy Garner with Senior Health Center is prescribing her adderall at a high dose. He can clearly see the signs that she is abusing the medication but continues to prescribe it. He refuses to talk with the family that is very concerned about her. She is now seeing hallucinations and is stuck in a state of psychosis. We have called several times to let him know but he refuses to stop prescribing this unnecessary medication. This has completely devastated our family and we are at a loss at what to do. It’s horrible to watch your family member deteriorate due to a medication that they think they need to live and the medical doctor has all the control.

My grandmother has been to this practice for over a decade. My grandfather was a patient as well. My grandmother prefers Dr. Rudyk. She is not always available. Lately, she has seen Dr. Garner. He is very unprofessional and inefficient. My grandmother was diagnosed with lymphoma and had a wound on her leg. She was admitted to the hospital after her first treatment. Dr. Garner was very dismissive. Her wound was last changed on the Wednesday before her being admitted to the ER. Her wound care is supposed to be done every 3 days. We are now at a week. Dr. Garner advised she can remove it herself when we asked, again about the redressing. She is diabetic and on oxygen, to say the least. He tells me anything just to get out of the room. Unfortunately, all the specialists have to coordinate with him. He should not deal with the elderly in this capacity. Update 8/8/23 I reported Dr. Garner to the medical board. They retaliated by dropping my Grandmother from the practice. They gave her 30 days to find a new doctor. She is still taking cancers medications and still under the oncologist care. She is still receiving iron infusions. She has atleast 10 medications she needs filled. I have to c
